About the role
- Perform general surgical procedures, including abdominal, gastrointestinal, and soft tissue surgeries
- Conduct preoperative assessments and develop individualized surgical treatment plans
- Provide postoperative care, including monitoring recovery and managing complications
- Evaluate and diagnose patients presenting with surgical conditions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests
- Provide emergency surgical consultations as required
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and recovery expectations
- Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in case reviews and quality improvement initiatives
- MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
- Board eligible or board certified in General Surgery
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Colorado
- Active DEA registration
- Associate-level experience in general surgery practice
- Strong clinical judgment and surgical technical proficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
- Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
- Level III Trauma Center
