Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects ranging from office buildings and retail spaces to manufacturing plants and educational institutions. The successful candidate will lead mechanical system design from concept through construction completion.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign comprehensive HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systemsPerform detailed load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing using industry softwareDevelop mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCADConduct site visits and assessments to evaluate existing systems and project requirementsCollaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project teams throughout design phasesEnsure all designs comply with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and energy efficiency requirementsReview contractor submittals and provide construction administration supportParticipate in client meetings and present design solutions to stakeholdersMentor junior engineers and support business development activitiesStay current with industry trends, technologies, and sustainability practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited programMinimum 5 years of experience in HVAC system design and engineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania preferred, or ability to obtain within 2 yearsProficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, or similar)Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, building codes, and energy modeling principlesExperience with sustainable design practices and LEED certification processExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in team environmentProject management experience and ability to meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field7+ years of experience in consulting engineering environmentExperience with critical facilities (data centers, laboratories, clean rooms)Knowledge of building automation systems and controls integrationFamiliarity with energy analysis software (EnergyPlus, eQUEST)Previous experience in construction administration and field inspectionsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. xmcpwfu We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
