About the role

Are you the person who sees the full picture when others only see the numbers? Our client, Triangle Wealth Management is looking for a Senior Financial Planner who thinks in decades, not quarters. We look at a family's full financial life and build a plan that holds up against real life: retirement, taxes, education costs, estate transfer, the unexpected. If you have deep technical expertise, genuine intellectual curiosity, and the analytical rigor to get the details right we want to talk to you.
About Our Client: TRIANGLE WEALTH MANAGEMENTTriangle Wealth Management is a privately owned, independent Registered Investment Advisory firm serving 500+ families with more than $1 billion in assets under management. For over 25 years, we've built our reputation one relationship at a time as fiduciaries who take an oath to put every client's interests first, and who believe every financial plan should be as unique as the family it's built for.
The Opportunity: As Senior Financial Planner, you'll be the technical foundation behind Triangle's promise of comprehensive, personalized planning. You'll build customized lifestyle plans covering retirement cash flow, education funding, tax strategy, insurance, and estate and multigenerational wealth transfer. You will have the privilege to sit across the table and present these plans to the families who are trusting you with their future. You won't work in isolation. You'll collaborate with a team made up of a relationship manager, portfolio manager and client service associate, all working closely with the client to translate their goals into strategy, serve as the go-to subject matter expert on complex planning topics such as RMDs to Social Security to Medicare.
What Makes This Role Different:
  • You'll do real planning work, not just plan production. This is comprehensive, multigenerational planning.
  • You'll be the expert others turn to. You'll serve as a subject matter resource for Triangle's own team and your expertise shapes how the firm advises across the board.
  • You'll be mentored, not just onboarded. Every team member is invested in developing your expertise because deep planning mastery takes years, and we're committed to building it with you.
  • You'll keep growing. We support continued certifications, courses, and self-directed study.
  • Who Thrives HereYou have deep expertise in retirement accumulation and distribution strategy, Social Security and Medicare planning, charitable giving, and estate and trust solutions.
  • You're analytically sharp and demonstrate strong critical thinking and organizational skills, with high attention to detail and follow-through.
  • You listen to understand, not just to respond. Our clients often share sensitive, personal information, and you handle it with genuine care and discretion.
  • You're intellectually curious by nature. You love to research a client's unique situation because you want to see your client succeed financially.
  • You can work autonomously and adapt to shifting priorities, while still being a strong team collaborator.
  • You bring a Bachelor's degree, 6–8 years of relevant industry experience, and hold your CFP certification. Additional credentials (Series 65, JD, CPA, CPA/PFS) are beneficial but not required
  • Experience with financial planning software (MoneyGuidePro a plus) and platforms like Salesforce, Orion, and Schwab is a bonus, not a requirement.
What We Offer:
  • Full-time, salaried position with real technical ownership and growth potential 401(k) with Safe Harbor and Profit Sharing
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Short & Long-Term Disability, Life, and AD&D Insurance
  • A culture built on mentorship and continuous learning — not sink-or-swim

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
