About the role

Global E-commerce Manager Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking a Global E-commerce Manager to define, build, and scale a consistent global e-commerce capability for the Production Software Division. This role will establish the strategic direction, operating model, governance, and execution roadmap required to support – build - execute a scalable global e-commerce channel. The ideal candidate combines hands-on e-commerce build experience with strong B2B commercial judgment, enterprise software awareness, and the ability to align global stakeholders around a common digital commerce model.
Responsibilities: Develop and own the global e-commerce strategy & Operating Model for Production Software, creating a consistent approach across regions, brands, product lines, and customer segments. Build and scale the e-commerce capability by evaluating relevant business priorities from an early-stage baseline, assessing existing internal efforts, identifying high-value use cases and implementation roadmap. Partner with internal stakeholders (eg. Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, IT, Legal, regional commercial teams) to align commercial objectives, customer experience, technology requirements, and governance. Identify the optimal balance of buy-versus-build solutions for Hexagon Production Software’s global e-commerce capability and then engage with relevant stakeholders (eg. e-commerce platform vendors, implementation partners, 3rd party vendors) to deliver the defined roadmap. Design the end-to-end customer journey for digital purchasing, including discovery, configuration, pricing, checkout, payment, fulfilment, onboarding, renewal, and post-sale support. Recommend the technology, process, and data foundations required to support a scalable global e-commerce channel, including integration with existing CRM, ERP, CPQ, learning, licensing, and customer support systems. Establish governance for pricing, promotions, catalogue management, regional variations, tax, payment methods, compliance, and digital terms of sale. Ensure compliance with GDPR, data privacy, export control, taxation, accessibility, and other applicable global e-commerce and software commerce requirements. Define and drive KPIs with supporting dashboards and reporting routines to measure digital channel performance, customer adoption, conversion, revenue, retention, and operational effectiveness. Create a phased roadmap that balances near-term commercial opportunities with the longer-term goal of building a durable global digital commerce capability.
Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital commerce, digital channels, or commercial transformation, ideally in a global B2B environment. Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling an e-commerce capability in a complex, global B2B environment, preferably where the starting point was fragmented, immature, or not globally standardized. Experience with software, SaaS, subscriptions, training, certification, services, or other digitally enabled commercial offerings. Strong understanding of B2B buyer journeys, digital customer experience, online catalogue models, payment flows, fulfilment processes, renewal motions, and post-sale customer engagement. Ability to translate commercial strategy into practical operating models, technology requirements, governance processes, and implementation roadmaps. Experience working across global matrix organizations and influencing stakeholders without direct authority. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, CRM, ERP, CPQ, marketing automation, customer portals, learning platforms, licensing systems, and analytics/AI tools. Working knowledge of GDPR, data privacy, tax, payments, accessibility, and international e-commerce compliance considerations. Strong communication skills, with the ability to create executive-ready recommendations, align regional stakeholders, and drive decisions across functions. Enterprise software, manufacturing software, engineering software, or industrial technology experience preferred. Strong blend of e-commerce leadership, B2B commercial judgment, operational discipline, and global stakeholder management. Ability to translate digital commerce strategy into practical execution across subscriptions, training, certification, services, and other online commercial offerings.
