INDUSTRIAL VINYL FABRIC FABRICATORREPORTS TO: Operations ManagerSTATUS: Full-Time, Non-ExemptPRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The responsibilities of the Industrial Vinyl Fabricator are to cut, seam using RF (radio frequency) and hot air equipment, sew, stitch, lace and grommet product to customer project requirements and scope. This individual will work with a wide variety of equipment and materials, working from engineered drawings and instructions. HIRING FOR FIRST SHIFT 7:00 AM TO 3:30 PM M-F.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneSTARTING WAGE: $17-18 per hour based on skills and experienceDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:CUTTINGCut vinyl and other materials using scissors and a cutting table; must be tape measure proficientBAR SEAMINGAttach handles and seam vinyl using RF press equipmentAIR SEAMINGSeam vinyl and other materials using pull-style hot air equipmentSEWINGPrepares machine by changing needles and thread, oiling and changing bobbin, and securing attachments Sew materials together using industrial sewing machinesGROMMETUse a grommet machine to press grommets into vinylLACEAttach vinyl liners to metal frames using lacing ropeREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:Able to operate various machines; sewing experience is preferred Proficient in math, able to use measuring devices, and comprehend engineered drawings and instructions Able to effectively multi-task various projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality expectations Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effective communication Eager to learn, take initiative, and leadership skills with an ownership mindset. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong time management skills Ability to work extended hours with little advance notice to meet project deadlines, if neededEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High school diploma/GEDMinimum 2 years' experience with industrial sewing preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending for 8-hour periods. Ability to frequently lift/move up to 20 pounds. Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust, or dirt
