About the role
- Research the keywords and questions people use to look for organizations and events like ours
- Write clear page titles, headings, meta descriptions, URL slugs, and image alt text
- Organize content so AI tools can easily quote it, using plain-language summaries, FAQs, and clear speaker, date, and topic details on event pages
- Make sure AI crawlers are allowed to read the site, and keep our organization's information consistent across the web
- Improve page speed (optimize images, lighten pages and embeds)
- Make small CSS tweaks when the built-in tools aren't enough
- Manage Google Search Console and Analytics, and send a short monthly report on traffic and search performance
- Use AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to work faster, always with human review
- Proven experience building and managing Squarespace sites. Experience with Squarespace 7.1 helpful.
- Solid grasp of SEO and keyword research, plus a working understanding of how AI search tools find and cite websites
- Comfortable with basic HTML and CSS for small adjustments. No custom development needed, as we want to maintain ease of use for non-coders.
- Portfolio or links to live Squarespace sites you've worked onClear communicator who can work independently
- About 10-15 hours per week, flexible schedule, with more hours while the site is being repaired and improved.
