About the role
White Fleet Driver Under direct supervision, transports a small number of students from designated stops in a safe and timely manner.
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Class C License 20 hour School Bus Certification Experience: Minimum of six months of driving experience Picks up students at designated stops and delivers students to designated locations in the Beaumont Independent School District area. Completes the student code of conduct sheets and submits them to the supervisor. Performs all job duties in a safe and timely manner. Complies with local traffic regulations. Reports delays or accidents. Verifies that equipment is operating correctly. May be required to conduct pre-trip inspections. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Work Complexity, Independent Judgment: Work and tasks are often straightforward, routine, structured, and guided by established policies and procedures. Little, if any, independent judgment is required outside of making basic choices in the selection and application of established methods. The job receives frequent, ongoing supervision. Communication/Interactions: Basic communication very little communication is required other than for receiving basic instructions. Interactions are mostly with students, their supervisor, and co-workers in their department. Customer Relationships: Follows through with customer inquiries, requests, and complaints. Forwards difficult and non-routine inquiries or requests to the appropriate level for resolution. Operation of 2-way radios, cell phones, and e-mail May operate special needs equipment No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and staff training. Mental Demands Maintain emotional control under stress Physical Demands Ability to carry and/or lift 15 to 44 pounds Environmental Demands Work involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions.
