Established in 1914, The NOCO Company designs and creates premium battery chargers, lithium jump starters, lithium batteries, tire inflators, USB-C and wireless chargers, as well as a wide range of related products and accessories. Through these world class offerings, NOCO® sets the standard in design, performance, and safety. NOCO is seeking an Electrical Engineer in their Peoria, AZ based R&D facility. This role is part of an R&D Engineering team working on new product development.
Summary: This position will be responsible for defining and executing design verification and qualification testing on new products, assemblies, and components. The engineer will develop test procedures, perform tests, and interpret test results. They will also troubleshoot and debug electronic assemblies and circuit boards during product development, identify root causes of failures, and work with the engineering team to develop and implement solutions. This is a hands-on position requiring significant time in the laboratory. Occasional travel to customers and suppliers is required.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend electronics schematics.
  • Experience with power electronics.
  • Experience with microcontrollers and analog/digital interface electronics.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and debug electronic circuits and systems.
  • Ability to identify root causes of electrical and electronic failures and develop practical solutions
  • Experience using common lab equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, data acquisition, etc.
  • Ability to use common shop tools to assemble, fabricate, or modify prototypes or test fixtures.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to create and write test procedures and reports.
Desired Skills and Experience: High current or high voltage experience. Familiarity with lithium batteries and battery management systems.
Attributes: Motivated engineer willing to learn and apply new technologies. Self-starter that works independently with minimal supervision. Team player that works cooperatively within a small group. Hands-on engineer, willing to get their hands dirty in the lab.
