About the role
Ophthalmology TechWillis Knighton is seeking an Ophthalmology Tech to join our team on the WKP campus. The tech will coordinate and provide care to patients in the physician's office under the direction and supervision of the clinic physician, participate in patient and family teaching, work cooperatively with other health care members and maintain standards for professional growth and development. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Responsible for the operation of all equipment Responsible for performing accurate vision screenings Test the patient's distant acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception Test patients' field of vision, including central and peripheral vision for defects Examine the eye using a slit lamp, for abnormalities of the cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers. Provide information to the patient/family regarding their disease process, diagnostic procedures, and/or surgery.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited high school
- Must be working toward an Ophthalmology technician certification
- Previous ophthalmology experience or some experience in a related field is preferred.
