Pay Range: $34.00per hour Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.

Position Summary: The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs routine and advanced laboratory testing in support of an invasive, non-invasive, and interventional cardiovascular practice. This position performs testing according to established procedures, operates laboratory equipment, evaluates testing methodologies, maintains accurate documentation, and provides day-to-day technical support and guidance to laboratory staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Performs routine and complex laboratory tests and analyses on patient specimens in accordance with established testing procedures. Operates manual and automated laboratory equipment and performs required quality control procedures. Reviews, evaluates, and follows established laboratory testing procedures and methodologies. Assists with evaluating new testing procedures, methods, and equipment as needed. Accurately records, verifies, and releases laboratory test results in accordance with established procedures. Provides day-to-day technical guidance and support to laboratory staff and assists with assigning work based on department needs. Helps coordinate and prioritize departmental workload to ensure appropriate coverage and timely completion of testing. Communicates laboratory workflow issues, operational concerns, and employee performance matters to the appropriate supervisor. Assists with training and onboarding new laboratory employees and provides ongoing guidance related to laboratory procedures. Maintains accurate and complete documentation in accordance with applicable laboratory, medical record, HIPAA, and organizational requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Follows applicable laboratory safety requirements, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. Works collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, laboratory personnel, patients, and other internal and external stakeholders. Performs other related duties as assigned.
