Are you a seasoned real estate attorney looking to bring your expertise to a company that’s shaping the future of clean energy? Our client, a leading developer, owner, and operator of wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage projects, is seeking a Senior Real Estate Counsel to join their dynamic legal team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a real estate lawyer with at least 10 years of experience — ideally including renewable energy project development — who’s eager to take on a high-impact in-house role with visibility, leadership, and a path for advancement.
What You’ll Do: Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Real Estate, the Senior Real Estate Counsel will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of utility-scale projects. You’ll be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating real estate agreements related to electric transmission, wind, and solar facilities — helping to secure the property rights essential to the company’s mission. You’ll also: Serve as a legal advisor and strategic partner to developers and internal stakeholders Coordinate with landowners’ and investment partners’ counsel Collaborate with local counsel to ensure agreements meet state-specific requirements Work closely with title companies and surveyors to ensure quality and timeliness Mentor and support junior attorneys on the real estate legal team Why This Role Stands Out: This is more than a traditional in-house counsel role. It’s a chance to work at the heart of the energy transition with a forward-thinking company that’s actively developing and operating mission-critical infrastructure. You’ll have the opportunity to build cross-functional relationships and help shape how the legal team supports large-scale projects across the country.
Ideal Candidate Profile: J.D. from an accredited law school 10–15 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong background in development work Experience with renewable energy projects is strongly preferred Skilled in negotiating complex real estate agreements Collaborative, business-minded, and eager to lead and mentor others This position is based in Houston, Texas, with a hybrid work schedule. For candidates located outside of the Houston area, relocation assistance may be available. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
