Cx Owner’s Representative
Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Project: Data Center
Duration: Long term contract (24 months)Start: ASAPThe Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Cx Owner’s Representative to support a major data center project in Wichita Falls, Texas. The role will act on behalf of the owner throughout the commissioning lifecycle, working closely with the General Contractor, commissioning team, MEP contractors, vendors and other project stakeholders to ensure systems are delivered, tested and commissioned to the required standards. This is a site based position suited to someone with strong data center commissioning experience who is comfortable representing the owner and challenging contractors when required.
Responsibilities: Represent the owner throughout the commissioning and construction process. Oversee and coordinate commissioning activities from pre functional testing through to integrated systems testing and final handover. Review commissioning plans, schedules, procedures and documentation. Coordinate with the GC, CxA, MEP contractors, vendors and design teams to ensure commissioning activities remain on programme. Monitor progress against commissioning milestones and identify risks or delays early. Review testing documentation, method statements, commissioning procedures and results. Witness functional performance testing and integrated systems testing. Ensure deficiencies, punch items and commissioning issues are properly documented, tracked and closed. Review system readiness and ensure equipment is prepared for testing and energisation. Coordinate commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical and controls systems. Support Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities. Ensure commissioning requirements are aligned with the owner’s operational and performance requirements. Attend project meetings and provide clear updates to the owner on progress, risks and outstanding issues. Challenge contractors and commissioning teams where work does not meet project requirements. Support final documentation, systems turnover and operational readiness. Technical Scope The successful candidate should have experience across critical data center systems including: MV and LV electrical systems Switchgear and distributionUPS systems GeneratorsATS and STSBusway TransformersHVAC and cooling systems Chillers and CRAH/CRAC systemsBMS and controlsEPMSFire and life safety systems Integrated Systems Testing Requirements 5+ years of commissioning experience within data centers or other mission critical environments. Previous experience working in an Owner’s Representative, Cx Manager, CxA or similar capacity. Strong understanding of the full commissioning lifecycle. Experience with Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning. Strong understanding of MEP systems and their interaction within a data center environment. Experience coordinating General Contractors, MEP contractors, vendors and commissioning teams. Ability to review commissioning documentation, testing procedures and results. Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working on site and challenging contractors when required. Ability to identify commissioning risks and drive issues through to resolution. Ideal Background The ideal candidate will have worked on large scale hyperscale or mission critical data center projects and will be comfortable acting as the owner’s representative on site. Experience working directly with owners, developers or major hyperscale data center clients would be highly beneficial.
