We are seeking a skilled and motivated Concrete Crew Chief to join a growing team in Durham, NC. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong concrete construction experience who can lead crews, maintain high-quality workmanship, and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. Duties of the Concrete Foreman As a Crew Leader within the Concrete department you'll provide direct supervision and daily guidance to maintenance crews while performing a variety of street, concrete, drainage, and infrastructure maintenance projects. Responsibilities for the Concrete Foreman Lead and supervise maintenance crews performing concrete construction and street maintenance projects. Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Oversee concrete repairs, installations, curb and gutter work, sidewalk construction, and related infrastructure projects. Perform quality control inspections to ensure workmanship meets required specifications and standards. Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks. Safely load, unload, and transport equipment to and from job sites. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment. Monitor equipment condition and perform basic maintenance and corrective repairs. Ensure proper traffic control setup and assist with flagging operations when required. Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety by ensuring all crew members wear appropriate PPE. Communicate project status, work progress, and operational needs with supervisors and management. Accurately track labor, materials, and equipment usage using CMMS software systems. Utilize laptops, tablets, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word for reporting and communication. Assist with excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, compacting, and site restoration activities as needed. Train, mentor, and develop crew members while maintaining productivity and accountability. Qualifications for the Concrete Foreman High School Diploma or GED. Valid CDL Class B Driver's License. Three years of experience with concrete finishing, curb & gutter installation, & sidewalk repair. Strong computer skills with laptops and tablets. Strong communication, organizational, & leadership abilities. Previous experience overseeing work quality, training employees, and coordinating daily work schedules. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round.
