EMS Training Cadre Recruitment The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Training Cadre recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. Only applications from current, full-time, OCFA Fire Captains, Fire Apparatus Engineers, and non-probationary Firefighters will be accepted. The EMS Department is currently accepting applications for EMS Training Cadre to establish an eligibility list to fill current EMS Training Cadre vacancies. EMS Training Cadre members will remain on their assigned schedules and work on an overtime/special assignment basis. The EMS Training Cadre will be comprised of highly motivated operations personnel who will assist the EMS Department with various training programs as needed. Those selected for this opportunity will work alongside the Nurse Educators and other EMS staff to assist with EMS training including but not limited to: paramedic accreditation academies, recruit academies, ACCD training, paramedic skills maintenance, and EMS TAG. Instructors will be required to attend an OCFA EMS Instructor Orientation and periodic train-the-trainer classes as required. The minimum qualification for selection will include: Current, OCFA Fire Captain, Fire Apparatus Engineer, or non-probationary Firefighter Possession of a current health care provider CPR card Strong knowledge of the OCMEDS system, OCEMS policies and OCFA SOPsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively Minimum of standard rating on current performance appraisal To apply, go to www.ocfa.org.
