Job Description: Chemical Shipping & Packaging Technician Shift, Pay, and Location
Location: Cleveland, OH
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Compensation: $23.29/hour baseA Day in the RoleYou arrive for the day shift and begin by checking the status of the processing equipment—reactors, tanks, and material-handling systems. Gauges are reviewed, temperatures and pressures verified, and levels confirmed. With production orders in hand, you weigh and charge raw materials, adjust controls to maintain stable conditions, and keep precise batch records. As products reach completion, you package them into bags, drums, or supersacks according to customer specifications, confirm batch and lot details, and prepare shipping documentation. Throughout the day, you move materials by hand and with a forklift, keep your work area orderly, and immediately flag any equipment or product concerns to your supervisor.
Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor reactors, tanks, conveyors, forklifts, and pallet jacks, including safe start-ups, shutdowns, and product changeovers. Weigh and charge raw materials; regulate levels, temperatures, and pressures to meet process requirements. Verify quantities, batch/lot numbers, and all shipping paperwork prior to release. Package finished goods in bags, drums, or supersacks per customer and company guidelines. Move packaged goods manually and with a forklift; maintain accurate inventory records. Maintain housekeeping standards to support a clean, safe work area. Follow strict safety procedures to prevent unintended chemical reactions; promptly report any product or equipment issues.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift operation capability.
  • Able to lift, push, and move up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Capable of wearing a negative-pressure elastomeric seal respirator.
