Position SummaryInsurance finance leaders today face disruption from artificial intelligence, market volatility, and regulatory change, such as IFRS 17 and LDTI. As an FP&A Senior Consultant focused on the insurance industry, you will help insurance carriers strengthen financial planning, forecasting, and analytics capabilities so they can make more informed business decisions. This role supports finance transformation efforts for life and annuity (L&A), property and casualty (P&C), specialty and reinsurance organizations by combining process improvement, data enhancement, and technology innovation to deliver timely, actionable insights across the enterprise.Recruiting for this role ends on 12/24/26Work you'll doAs an FP&A Senior Consultant within the Insurance Finance Transformation team, you will be responsible for:Leading financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting transformation projects for insurance carriers' finance organizationsDriving finance transformation initiatives across planning, analytics, management reporting, and decision support processes for L&A, P&C, specialty and reinsurance carriersDeveloping financial models, scenario analyses, and performance insights (including loss ratio, combined ratio, expense ratio, and reserve/premium trend analysis against external and macroeconomic impacts) to support strategic and operational decisionsCollaborating with actuarial, investments, underwriting, claims, and other client stakeholders to assess current-state finance processes and design scalable future-state solutionsSupporting the implementation and adoption of data, automation, and artificial intelligence capabilities within FP&A processesSupporting alignment between statutory (NAIC), US GAAP, IFRS and capital (e.g., RBC, BSCR, etc.) reporting requirements within FP&A planning and forecasting processesDesigning and facilitating client workshops (from preparation through execution) to drive design decisions and advance stakeholder thinking on future-state processesManaging work plans and timelines across multiple concurrent workstreams to drive deliverables to closureA successful candidate would possess these skills:Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a teamEffective written and verbal communication skillsPresent to key internal and client stakeholders, including meeting facilitation activitiesMeticulous attention to detail and quality of work productDeep understanding of an insurance carrier income statement, balance sheet, liquidity and capital financial statements and analyticsDeep understanding of insurance-specific financial concepts, including loss reserves, reinsurance ceding, premium recognition, and combined ratioFamiliarity with regulatory reporting requirements of an insurance company, including NAIC statutory reporting and IFRS 17/LDTIFamiliarity with actuarial concepts and terminology, and ability to collaborate effectively with actuarial teamsSQL, Python, or Alteryx based data prep/automationAbility to build and sustain professional relationshipsAbility to lead projects or workstreams including project management activities (e.g., status tracking, RAID documentation, key design decisioning)Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong interpersonal skills and professional demeanorAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to mentor and provide clear guidance to othersThe teamDeloitte's Finance Transformation offering helps insurance finance and global business services leaders navigate an increasingly challenging environment marked by disruptive tech like AI, market uncertainty, and regulatory change, including IFRS 17, LDTI, and evolving statutory requirements, and recognize the opportunity to better serve the enterprise, shareholders, customers, and regulators.Within that offering, our Insurance Business Finance team helps insurance carriers drive strategic value through financial planning, forecasting, and analytics capabilities, with a focus on earnings improvement, expense management, and capital and reserve planning. By leveraging next-gen processes, scalable data platforms, and AI, our team delivers accurate, timely, and actionable insights to life, annuity, P&C, and reinsurance clients.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a quantitative field5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, finance transformation, or business finance3+ years of experience within the insurance industry, ideally in FP&A, actuarial finance, capital management, investor relations or corporate finance2+ years of experience building financial models, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses2+ years of experience with enterprise resource planning systems, enterprise performance management tools, or data visualization tools2+ years of experience leading workstreams, project teams, or finance transformation initiativesAbility to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.Preferred:Master of Business Administration (MBA) or master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or analyticsCertified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)Experience with Anaplan, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), SAP Analytics Cloud, OneStream, Tableau, or Power BIExperience designing planning, forecasting, management reporting, or driver-based planning processes for insurance carriersExperience applying automation, advanced analytics, or artificial intelligence in finance workflowsExperience with insurance-specific KPIs such as loss ratio, combined ratio, expense ratio, RBC ratio and persistencyExperience in consulting or professional services environments supporting insurance industry finance organizationsThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $116,200 to $229,100.
