About the role
We are currently supporting a global manufacturer and supplier of Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) compounds, providing high-performance material solutions to customers across a wide range of industries. As they continue to grow their presence in the US market, we are looking for an experienced TPE Sales professional to take ownership of business development and customer growth across the United States. This is an ideal opportunity for an established plastics sales professional who wants to take ownership of a growing territory and play a key role in expanding a TPE business.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish, develop, and manage a strong customer network across the US to drive sales growth for the TPE business. Identify, target, and qualify new business development opportunities across Industrial, Consumer, Construction, Wire & Cable, and Automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 and aftermarket markets. Generate new business and consistently meet or exceed sales targets. Develop trusted, long-term relationships with customers, prospects, and key industry stakeholders. Provide customers with technical and application expertise around TPE materials, formulation capabilities, material properties, and processing parameters. Work closely with internal technical, production, and sales support teams to ensure successful project execution and high levels of customer satisfaction. Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions. Travel 70%+ throughout the US to visit customers and prospects and attend industry events. Monitor competitor activity, market developments, pricing dynamics, and emerging trends within the TPE industry. Identify opportunities for new applications, products, and market expansion. Support sales forecasting, pipeline management, and broader commercial strategy.
Qualifications:
5+ years of successful sales experience within the plastics industry, ideally with a strong background in TPEs. Experience with TPEs is highly desirable. Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets. An established network of customers and contacts within the plastics, polymer, or TPE industry is a strong advantage. Strong technical understanding of TPE materials, properties, applications, and processing. Ability to translate customer requirements into practical material and application solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and customer opportunities simultaneously. Willingness and ability to travel 60%+ across the US.Bachelor's degree preferred.
