About the role

Job Title: Electrical Reliability Test Technician
Role Overview: Onsemi is seeking an Electrical Reliability Test Technician to specialize in the execution and monitoring of electrical stress testing for semiconductor devices at our Allen, Texas Rel Lab operations. This role is critical for evaluating the durability and integrity of semiconductor components. You will be responsible for executing complex stress tests, specifically focusing on ESD and Latchup characterization, to ensure our products meet JEDEC industry standards and internal quality benchmarks.
Responsibilities: Reliability Testing: Set up and execute a variety of environmental and mechanical stress tests according to defined protocols (HTOL, HTSL, Temp Cycle). ESD Characterization: Perform component-level ESD testing, including Human Body Model (HBM) and Charged Device Model (CDM), using automated test equipment. Latchup Testing: Conduct Latchup testing per JEDEC standards (e.g., JESD78) to identify functional failures or permanent damage caused by parasitic structures. Data Analysis: Monitor tests in progress, collect raw data, and provide initial reports on pass/fail criteria and unexpected electrical behavior. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and troubleshooting of ESD simulators and Latchup testers to ensure measurement accuracy. Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of test setups, board configurations, and failure symptoms for the engineering team.
Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of experience in a semiconductor lab environment or reliability testing facility.
Technical Skills: Hands‑on experience with ESD simulators and Latchup test systems (e.g., Thermo Fisher, MK, or similar). Familiarity with JEDEC/ESDA standards for component reliability. Ability to read schematics and use standard lab tools (Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Curve Tracers).
Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical training). Attributes: High attention to detail, strong safety mindset when handling sensitive components, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced lab. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills: Clear concise communication.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
