- We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused
- Patient Registrarto join a healthcare team in Cortlandt Manor, NY. The Patient Registrar will be responsible for welcoming and registering patients, verifying demographic and insurance information, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and supporting daily administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and register patients in a professional and courteous manner.
Obtain and accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information.
Pre-register patients and maintain accurate medical records.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
Schedule and maintain daily appointment schedules.
Coordinate appointments for medical procedures and examinations.
Obtain and process physician requisitions and other required documentation.
Verify and document third-party insurance eligibility and patient financial responsibility.
Prepare authorizations, requisitions, and other patient paperwork.
Collect co-payments and fees and maintain accurate financial records.
Assist patients with payment options and financial assistance information.
Retrieve and organize medical records, laboratory results, and radiology information as needed.
Communicate with referring offices, physicians, internal departments, and patients.
Enter, verify, and update information in computer systems.
Assist with routine reports, data collection, and administrative tasks.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.At least 1 year of clerical experience .Customer service experience.
Strong data-entry and keyboarding skills ( 4,500 keystrokes ).Strong telephone, computer, and communication skills.
Knowledge of health insurance benefits and requirements.
Familiarity withICD-9 and CPT-4 codingis preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment.
