Intern, Responsible Sourcing This position is expected to start around January or February 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (ending approximately May 2027 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships. International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About the Role: The Responsible Sourcing Team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated intern to support our Supply Chain Organization in strategic procurement topics with a focus on understanding and improving supplier performance to Tesla's supplier sustainability expectations. You will be part of a team that is positioned independently from any commodity and serves within an internal supply chain optimization group. Your focus will be on continuous improvement topics that are prioritized based on business criticality and opportunity for positive change. The role will turn Tier 1 supplier responsibility audit results into actionable insights and pathways to practical improvement. Working closely with the Supplier Responsibility Audit team within Responsible Sourcing, analyze self-assessment questionnaire results, audit data and corrective action plans to build a framework for long-term improvement of covered topics. This framework will impact internal (supply chain) and external (supplier) stakeholders and will include development of guidelines for procurement stakeholders, development of supplier-facing materials, and helping map Tesla's current supplier responsibility due diligence work. The role will require skills in data analysis, clear communication, and a collaborative working style.
Responsibilities: Analyze sustainability assessment data and corrective action plans to identify trends, themes, and nonconformance root causes Turn findings into actionable insights and pathways to practical improvement for Tier 1 suppliers Support Supply Chain Managers and Supplier Industrialization Engineers on understanding supplier performance against Tesla's Supplier Code of Conduct Develop supplier-facing materials that support practical improvement Map Tesla's current supplier responsibility due diligence work to current best practices and provide solutions to identified gaps Work with procurement stakeholders to increase visibility and understanding of existing due diligence information
Requirements: Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Sustainability, International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability Familiarity with human rights topics such as forced labor, child labor, migrant worker vulnerabilities, and governance Familiarity with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct, and ILO Conventions Coursework or experience in research design and methods related to social sciences Coursework or experience in organizational behavior, UX/UI, process design, or similar topicsAI literacy and comfort interpreting data and generating insights Strong project coordination skills, including planning work, setting milestones, and following through to completion Ability to synthesize complex issues and communicate findings clearly in writing and presentations Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams against deadlines Self-starter who takes initiative and works well with cross-cultural, cross-functional teams, including procurement, sustainability, and compliance stakeholders
