What You'll Do:
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to manufacture and repair large precision components.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances to plan machining operations.
Determine appropriate tooling, workholding, machining sequences, and setups.
Program and make adjustments at the machine to achieve required specifications.
Perform precision measurements and inspections to verify finished work.
Troubleshoot machining challenges and develop practical solutions.
Work independently while collaborating with fellow machinists, supervisors, Engineering, and Quality as needed.
Maintain a safe, organized work environment and properly care for equipment.
Follow applicable customer, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Share knowledge and assist in developing less-experienced machinists.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for machinists who take ownership of their work and enjoy using their skills to solve difficult problems.
Required Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age.
Two-year degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with CNC machining, machine setup, and programming at the control.
Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
Understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, workholding, and precision measurement.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail, safety, and workmanship.
Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of machining experience.
Experience with large components, complex setups, or one-off and low-volume manufacturing.
CAD/CAM software experience.
Experience with both CNC and conventional machining equipment.
Previous OSHA or other applicable safety training.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift or carry up to 75 pounds, consistent with job requirements and applicable accommodations. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with industrial machining.
