About the role

About STRIXSTRIX Drones USA is building next-generation unmanned aerial system technology, including commercial and defense platforms and capabilities. We're a fast-moving hardware team standing up domestic production in Colorado, and we're looking for hands-on technicians who want to build real systems.
The Role: We're hiring a Senior Technician to support the mechanical assembly and build-out of our drone docking stations — the ground infrastructure that houses, charges, and launches our aerial systems. You'll work from engineering drawings and build documentation to fabricate, assemble, and integrate mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-systems, and you'll be one of the first people to touch every unit that goes out the door. This is a core production hire: you'll work semi-independently, take ownership of sub-assembly and final integration, and help us build the repeatable processes that scale as we grow the team.
What You'll Do: Read and work independently from mechanical drawings, BOMs, and build documentation Perform precision mechanical assembly using hand and power tools (fastening, torque-spec work, bonding/sealing compounds, basic wiring/harnessing)Build sub-assemblies and perform final integration of docking station units Perform basic electro-mechanical troubleshooting and rework Maintain build quality and flag design-for-manufacturability (DFM) issues to engineering Support fit checks, functional testing, and quality inspection of completed units Occasionally support on-site installation of docking stations at customer/test locations (some travel)Help document and refine build procedures as processes mature What You Bring 2–5 years of experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly (aerospace, robotics, industrial equipment, or similar precision manufacturing preferred)Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and following torque/tolerance specifications Proficient with hand and power tools; comfortable with fasteners, adhesives/sealants, and basic wiring Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset — this hardware needs to work in the field Able to work independently and troubleshoot issues without constant oversight Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or permanent resident) due to export control (ITAR) requirements on this product line Willingness to travel occasionally for field installs
Nice to have: Experience with drone, robotics, or other aerospace-adjacent hardware Prior experience in a startup or low-volume/high-mix production environment Basic familiarity with electrical systems or wiring harnesses
Why Join Us: Ground-floor opportunity at a growing defense-tech company with a real, fielded product Direct line of sight from your work to units that ship and get used Equity participation in the company's growth Colorado-based production facility, on-site collaborative team

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
