The Part-Time Bilingual Preschool Teacher provides high-quality, culturally responsive early learning experiences for children ages 3–5 in a grant-funded bilingual program. Key Responsibilities: Provide bilingual instruction and support for children ages 3–5.
Implement Creative Curriculum through engaging, play-based and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Support kindergarten readiness in early literacy, language, math, science, social-emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and independence.
Create learning experiences that celebrate children’s home languages, cultures, families, and individual strengths.
Observe children’s development and use observations to individualize learning experiences and document progress.
Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families and communicate with families in their preferred language whenever possible.
Maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment that meets YMCA and Colorado child care licensing standards.
Collaborate with Director and teaching staff to meet program and grant goals and document program outcomes.
Model the YMCA of Metro Denver’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Innovation.
Qualifications:
Bilingual required; ability to communicate effectively with children and families in both English and the program’s second language.
Experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably ages 3–5.
Knowledge of or experience with Creative Curriculum preferred.
Must meet applicable Colorado Department of Early Childhood/PDIS requirements for the position.
Understanding of whole-child development, culturally responsive teaching, and kindergarten-readiness practices.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and teamwork skills.
Schedule Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
This position is ideal for an educator who believes kindergarten readiness is about more than academics—it is about helping children become confident, curious, independent, connected, and ready to learn.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
