Role Description:
The Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Richland, WA. This position is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs, conducting regular inspections of facilities and work sites, and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator will investigate incidents and near-misses, maintain safety records, and prepare reports and recommendations to reduce risk. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating safety meetings, delivering training sessions, supporting supervisors with corrective actions, and promoting a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization. The role also collaborates with operations teams to identify hazards, develop preventive measures, and support continuous improvement in safety performance.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply regulatory and industry standards in an operational environment. Knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) practices, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Ability to design and deliver effective Safety Training, including toolbox talks, onboarding programs, and refresher courses for diverse teams. Proficiency in Accident Investigation, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence safety behaviors and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Solid organizational skills, including documentation, recordkeeping, and proficiency with standard office and safety management software. Relevant education or certification in safety, occupational health, environmental science, or a related field (e.g., OSHA training, CHST, CSP, or equivalent) preferred. Experience in power, utilities, construction, or industrial environments is beneficial, along with the ability to work on-site and in field conditions as needed.
