Fiber Technician II / Fiber Splicer Are you an experienced Fiber Technician who enjoys working hands-on with cutting-edge fiber optic infrastructure? We're looking for a Fiber Technician II / Fiber Splicer to support installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic networks across a variety of client environments.
What You'll Be Doing: Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and splice fiber optic cabling. Perform fusion and mechanical splicing on single-mode (SMF) and multi-mode (MMF) fiber systems. Work with high-count fiber strands (288+ count).Conduct ribbon splicing, building entrance splicing, maintenance splicing, and direct-buried splicing. Test and certify fiber using OTDR, Power Meter/Light Source (PMLS), and Fluke DTX 180 equipment. Identify and resolve network connectivity and end-to-end fiber issues. Install and terminate fiber connectors including LC, SC, ST, FC, SMA, FDDI, and MPO/MTP.Support copper cabling installations, including CAT3/CAT5 terminations, patch panels, and 66/110 blocks. Ensure all work meets project quality, safety, and performance standards.
Required Qualifications: 2+ years of fiber optic installation experience. Experience installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and splicing fiber optic cabling. Proficiency with single-mode and multi-mode fiber systems. Experience with high-count strand fiber (288+).Hands-on experience with fusion splicing and ribbon splicing. Experience using OTDR, Fluke DTX 180, and PMLS testing equipment. Ability to troubleshoot network and fiber connectivity issues. Basic experience with structured copper cabling and terminations.
