There is huge potential for growth, and we welcome anyone who is up to a challenging yet rewarding journey!Position DescriptionReporting to the Marketing Manager and above, the Junior Graphic Designer/Store Assistant is responsible for the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics, including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos. The role helps shape the visual aspects of websites, brochures, product packaging, posters, and other marketing materials. In addition, this position will be required to provide in-store operational support on a weekly basis, assisting with day-to-day store activities as neededDuties and ResponsibilitiesDesign web pages, brochures, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and other communication materials.Create these materials by hand or by using technology, including computer software programs.Meet with clients to gain an understanding of what they want their proposed communications to look like.Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the communications.Select type size and style to enhance the readability of text and image.Produce drafts for review by clients and make revisions based on the feedback received.Review final productions for errors and ensure that final prints reflect client specifications.Perform work in store as required.Assist in daily store operations, including prepping ingredients, making beverages, and maintaining cleanliness.Ideal Candidate CompetenciesAttitude: proven entrepreneur spirit of working "on-floor" spontaneously, as to motivate and propel the frontline personnel in person and to serve as the role model for co-workers.Results-Oriented: demonstrates the ability to consistently perform optimal business results by meeting deadlines and achieving pre-determined goals.Communication: effectively conveys necessary information and ideas in concise and meaningful exchanges through verbal and written communications.Teamwork/Collaboration: effectively develops healthy relationships with co-workers and encourages idea-sharing that assists to accomplish goals.Initiative: proactively seeking opportunities to work outside of job scope to assist various business departments and demonstrates the ability to always go beyond what is required to achieve goals.Personal Adaptability: demonstrates the ability to welcome and embrace changes and effectively adjusts to newly altered environment within the business.Expectation of Successful CandidateDegree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is requiredProficient familiarity with design software and technologies, including Illustrator and CanvaProficiency in Adobe’s Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.Experience with Adobe Photoshop (Full Suite) preferredProven graphic designing experienceA strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphicsA keen eye for aesthetics and detailsAbility to work methodically and meet deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin/Cantonese (written and verbal) is an assetMust have a valid driver’s license and a reliable method of transportationPay Range: $18.00–$28.00 USD per hourJob Type: Part-time & Full-time
