Job Overview:
The Underground Utility Pipe Foreman supervises the field operations of a pipe crew and performs hands-on trade work as needed. This working foreman leads installation of sanitary sewer, storm drainage, water mains, and other wet utilities while coordinating heavy equipment operations, safety, quality, materials, and production.
What You'll Do:
Lead and directly supervise a pipe crew, reporting to the Superintendent.
Install and oversee sanitary sewer, storm drainage, water mains, and other wet utility systems.
Operate heavy equipment and supervise equipment operations on active project sites.
Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
Manage line and grade alignment, dewatering, bypass pumping, and leak testing.
Track labor, materials, and production and submit timely reports.
Ensure all safety precautions, quality standards, and project requirements are met.
Apply knowledge of local specifications, materials, and construction methods.
Resolve field issues, coordinate multiple priorities, and maintain crew productivity.
Adapt to changes in schedules, project locations, and shift times.
Qualifications:
Proven experience supervising underground or subsurface utility construction.
Knowledge of sanitary sewer, storm drainage, water main, dewatering, bypass pumping, line alignment, and leak testing.
Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
Ability to multitask, resolve field issues, and lead a construction crew.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ pounds.
