About the role

The Clinical Specialist serves as the primary clinical and technical partner for customers following the sale of capital equipment. Working in close collaboration with anesthesiologists, anesthesia leadership, and preoperative stakeholders, this role drives successful implementations and go-lives, and delivers ongoing clinical education and support. Upon completion of a qualifying capital sale, the Clinical Specialist is introduced to the customerthrough a structured warm handoff from Sales personnel. From that point forward, the Clinical Specialist assumes full ownership of post-sale implementation and clinical engagement, servingas the primary point of contact for onboarding, training, and ongoing clinical optimization. In this role, the Clinical Specialist partners closely with hospital personnel, which may include: Clinical Champions and Department Leads (Anesthesia)Biomedical / Clinical Engineering teamsEMR Integration and IT teams Anesthesia Technicians or Anesthesia Tech Supervisors Project Managers or Implementation Leads (as applicable)
Core Responsibilities: Implementation Planning & Project Leadership Assume full ownership of post-sale customer implementations, serving as the primaryclinical and technical lead. Schedule, lead, and document virtual and on-site implementation planning meetingswith customer project teams. Review and align on project scope, equipment delivery timelines, clinical readinessrequirements, and key dependencies. Define system integration workflows and identify required engagement with IT, Biomedical Engineering, and perioperative leadership. Establish implementation milestones, communication cadence, and measurable success criteria to ensure on-time, high-quality deployment. Technical & Operational Execution Coordinate and support all technical aspects of system deployment, including cerification of site readiness, mounting solutions, and installation plans. Collaboration with EMR and hospital IT teams to validate integrations and align clinical workflows. Device configuration, connectivity validation, and firmware/software compatibility. Serve as the primary clinical and technical liaison between the customer and internal cross-functional teams, ensuring issues are identified, escalated, and resolved efficiently. Go-Live Planning & Execution Develop, manage, and execute detailed go-live timelines and schedules. Ensure all customer stakeholders understand and complete pre–go-live responsibilities. Prepare and coordinate training materials, agendas, staffing plans, and on-site or virtuallogistics. Provide on-site or virtual go-live support to ensure clinical confidence, workflowcontinuity, and patient safety.
Clinical Education & Training: Deliver hands-on clinical support in the operating room and perioperative environment. Conduct formal education sessions, in-service trainings, and workflow demonstrationsfor anesthesiologists, CRNAs, anesthesia technicians, and perioperative staff. Identify, train, and support clinical super users to promote adoption and long-term success. Perform post–go-live competency assessments and provide follow-up training to reinforce best practices and optimize clinical utilization. Collaboration & Communication Maintain clear, proactive communication with customers, Sales, and internal cross- functional partners throughout the implementation lifecycle. Provide regular implementation updates, risk assessments, and customer feedback to internal stakeholders. Support long-term customer success through trusted clinical partnership, ongoing education, and relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications
Required: Industry experience in either a sales or clinical specialist role. Demonstrated experience supporting capital equipment implementations, system integrations, or complex clinical workflows in hospital settings. Strong working knowledge of operating room and anesthesia workflows, including familiarity with perioperative protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Proven ability to lead customer-facing projects, manage multiple implementations concurrently, and drive successful go-lives. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with anesthesiologists, anesthesia leadership, perioperative staff, and executive stakeholders. High level of technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn, configure, and troubleshoot medical devices. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a field-based environment. Willingness and ability to travel up to [50%], including overnight travel, as required. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company travel and hospital credentialingrequirements.
