Company Description:
Sports Learning Pod Role Description The Learning Coach is a part-time, on-site role based in Pacific Beach, CA. This role involves supervising eight 7th and 8th grade athletes as they complete academic assignments, while supporting their personal and academic development. The Learning Coach will facilitate productive work blocks ensuring that the athletes are focussed and completing assignments in a timely manner. Daily responsibilities include monitoring students, helping with projects when needed and keeping them on task. Reporting to program leads about student athlete progress, offering feedback and encouragement, and contributing to program improvement and updates.
Qualifications:
Strong Communication skills, including the ability to connect with youth, families, and team members in a clear, respectful, and culturally sensitive manner. Experience in teaching is an asset, but not required. Background in working with youth, specifically middle school age. Demonstrated commitment to youth development, health, and wellness. Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment and manage groups of children or adolescents effectively. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in professional, shared space setting. Relevant education or training in education, youth development, social work, kinesiology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
