About the role
- Assist oncology patients with applying for pharmaceutical assistance and medical financial aid programs
- Counsel patients on navigating medical bills, insurance coverage, and available financial resources
- Evaluate and determine the most appropriate sources of payment for services rendered
- Collaborate closely with patients, physicians, nursing staff, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance providers
- Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring compliance with healthcare and privacy regulations
- Travel to additional client facilities as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Training Requirement
- Complete paid training in Allentown, PA (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) for 3–4 weeks
- Mileage reimbursement provided for training-related travel
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current car insurance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Trustworthy, detail-oriented, and goal-driven
- Comfortable working in hospital and clinical environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelHigh school diploma or GED required
- Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a healthcare facility
- Insurance billing, Medicaid eligibility, or revenue cycle experience
- Patient advocacy or social work background
- Oncology or specialty care experience is a plus
- Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and interacting with patients
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds
- Ability to work in hospital and clinical settings
- Reliable transportation required
