About the role
Optomi, in partnership with one of our top clients, is seeking a talented Hands-on Engineering Manager to join their team! Engineering Managers are expected to remain active contributors within the codebase, pair program with engineers, assist with troubleshooting, and unblock team members. Managers should own small feature deliveries when needed and maintain familiarity with the team's architecture and code. The company is eliminating dedicated Scrum Master roles, and Engineering Managers will facilitate Agile ceremonies, own sprint execution and delivery processes, and partner directly with Product Managers as key decision-makers, operating with high autonomy and ownership. Responsibilities:
- Any experience in java/kotlin along with typescript/node.js 70% hands on and 30% management (Will be be managing two teams of 3)
- Hands-on technical leadership
- Scrum ownership
- People leadershipAI-focused experience
- Experience with TypeScript-based, AI-forward teams 1+ years working with AI/LLM technologies
- Experience with tools such as Cursor
- Understanding of AI-assisted software development workflows
- Experience integrating or building with Large Language Models (LLMs)
