About the role
- Bachelor's Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Post Graduate Athletic Training Experience
- Certifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses
- Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Board of Certification and/or American Physical Therapy Association
- Prior to hire: Licensed by the state of Oklahoma as a Certified Athletic Trainer
- Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse department, University and community constituencies
- Ability to direct and perform confidential detailed work with accuracy under deadline pressure
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautions.
- Extensive amount of time standing per day and a willingness to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to deal with heat and changing weather precautions and ability to direct personnel in case of severe weather
- Ability to manage and direct multiple personnel and tasks at one time
- Experience and knowledge of organising strength programs, especially for injured student athletes
- Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database function
- National and international travel is required.
- Work schedule will vary according to practice and event schedules. These can change depending on availability of facilities and weather changes. Athletic events will take place after business hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
- Master's Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical TherapyAT/PT (Athletic trainer and Physical therapist) preferred
- At least 2 years of Athletic Training Experience. Experience working with Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist
- Certifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses
- Additional: Preferred Certification by NASM as PES/or CES., PTSkills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge
- Experience with Manual Therapy Techniques
