🏗️ We're Hiring: Lead EstimatorsSL Recruit is a DC-area recruiting firm focused on construction management and real estate development talent. We partner with general contractors and developers across DC, Maryland, and Virginia to connect them with experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, and construction leadership through a relationship-driven, personalized approach. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add a Lead Estimator What You'll DoLead full-cycle estimating across a diverse project portfolio, from early conceptual budgeting through GMP development. Perform detailed take-offs and review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate, competitive pricing. Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids across multiple trades. Drive value engineering efforts, balancing cost, quality, and client goals. Partner closely with preconstruction, project management, and operations teams to ensure a seamless handoff from estimate to execution. Present estimates and budget recommendations directly to clients and project stakeholders. Mentor and develop junior estimating staff as part of a growing team.
What We're Looking For: 8+ years of construction estimating experience with a construction management firm or general contractor. Experience across varied project types preferred affordable/market-rate housing, historic preservation, healthcare, education, or life sciences work is a strong plus. Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Plan Swift, Procore, Bluebeam, Timberline/Sage).Strong communication and presentation skills this role works directly with clients and stakeholders, not just internal teams.
