About the role

Over the years Ciorba Group has created and refined a robust Internship Program that provides students pursuing a Civil Engineering degree with the opportunity to gain knowledge and work experience related to the career that they want to pursue after graduation. We are actively recruiting interns for the summer of 2027. Interns can work out of the following office locations: Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities: The selected candidate will be paired with an experienced engineer and will build essential, hands-on skills that will complement those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition to a professional career. Engagements will consist of office and fieldwork, and it is common for interns to get involved with a variety of projects. Our goal is to provide interns with a broad, well-rounded learning experience to relate within their field of study and to get involved in teamwork.
Required Qualifications: A rising sophomore, junior, or senior in an accredited civil engineering bachelor's program or a new graduate planning to start a Master Program in civil engineering. Fundamental understanding of engineering concepts. Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Some experience with CADD, other engineering software and previous work experience will be a plus.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
