About the role
Job TitleThis position assists the Finals Administrator by conducting office and field audits of project documentation for full conformance with the CDOT Road and Bridge Standard Specifications, project plans and specifications, and the CDOT Construction Manual. Additionally, the position assists in project administration duties. Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Conduct field audits of active and completed construction project records to verify full compliance with CDOT, FHWA, State, and Federal statutory requirement. Evaluate the accuracy of engineering calculations, cross-checks source documents for logic, mathematical precision, and completeness. Audit pay estimates, Force Account billings, and construction change orders to ensure proper documentation supports all contract payments. Review Steel and Iron documentation for chain of custody compliance. Review Construction Materials and Manufactured Products documentation for Build America, Buy America compliance. Evaluate the accuracy of engineering calculations, cross-checks source documents for logic, mathematical precision, and completeness. Audit pay estimates, Force Account billings, and construction change orders to ensure proper documentation supports all contract payments. Assist the Finals Engineer by managing regional project data and digital records retention using enterprise systems, including PMWeb and Project Wise. Add watermarks to the Award, Record, and As-Constructed plan sets, manages tracking record set sealing deadlines. Serve as the secondary technical resource and backup for Region 3 CDOT project engineers, local agency staff, and external consultants regarding finals documentation and closeout standards during the Finals Administrator's absence. Assists with activating projects, granting contract authority upon proper authorization, and logging critical contract milestones, including Notice to Proceed (NTP), project start dates, and formal acceptance dates. Work Environment Your schedule will primarily be 8:00 am 5:00 pm work hours, Monday-Friday. Travel may be required during work hours throughout the region. Occasional overnight travel 1-3 times a year throughout Colorado Required to operate CDOT vehicles Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications: Experience Only:
- At least four (4) years of full-time work experience where the primary job duties include all of the following:
- Working with computer software and applications (e.g., MS Excel, SAP, Google Applications).Using software to track a large volume of data, such as documents, equipment, financial, or other.
- Applying rules and procedures for the entry, quality assurance, analysis, resolution of issues, and reporting and manipulating data.
- Providing on-going customer service in person, on the phone, and/or via email to internal and external customers.
- OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of relevant education and experience equal to at least four (4) years.
Completed college coursework in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, data management, math, or another field of study closely related to the duties of this position will be considered.
Experience (with a primary focus on) in all of the following:
Working with computer software and applications (e.g., MS Excel, SAP, Google Applications).Using software to track a large volume of data, such as documents, equipment, financial, or other.
Applying rules and procedures for the entry, quality assurance, analysis, resolution of issues, and reporting and manipulating data.
Providing on-going customer service in person, on the phone, and/or via email to internal and external customers.

A current valid driver license is required for all Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) positions which require operating a state or personal motor vehicle to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
