About the Opportunity: We are seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on designing and implementing industrial automation and control systems for a variety of manufacturing and industrial clients. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both designing new control systems and troubleshooting existing automation equipment. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, including system design, PLC programming, HMI development, commissioning, and customer support.
What You'll Be Doing: Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial equipment and machinery Create control panel layouts, electrical schematics, and system documentation Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMI systems Support installation, startup, testing, and commissioning activities Diagnose and resolve issues within existing control systems and automation equipment Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and customers throughout project execution Provide technical support and recommendations for system improvements Ensure designs meet customer requirements and industry standards
Required Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field 3 to 7 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Automation Engineer Experience troubleshooting industrial control systems and automation equipment Strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal teams and customers Hands-on PLC programming experienceHMI programming experience Experience working with: Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Factory Talk or similar HMI platforms
Preferred Qualifications: Machine vision experience using: Cognex Keyence Robotics programming, integration, or troubleshooting experience Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial automation environments Technologies & Equipment Allen-Bradley PLCsRockwell Automation PlatformsHMI Development Factory Talk Industrial Controls Electrical Design Automation Systems Machine Vision (Cognex/Keyence)Robotics
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has a strong controls and automation background and is comfortable owning projects from design through implementation. They have experience programming PLCs, developing HMIs, troubleshooting industrial equipment, and working directly with customers to deliver automation solutions.
