About the role

SUMMARY: Our client is an established powertrain and engine solutions provider serving off-highway OEMs, and it is investing in a Midwest region with significant untapped potential. This is a build role. You'll define the territory strategy, open new OEM accounts, and shape how the company competes regionally. You'll sell from an unusually broad portfolio: multiple globally recognized industrial engine brands, off-highway drivetrain products, and integrated service, remanufacturing, and repower capabilities. As the region grows, the role has a clear path toward leading OEM and aftermarket resources. The is a developing region, so expect limited existing business and few warm relationships. With multi-year sales cycles, your early wins will be pipeline milestones, not revenue. Territory boundaries and the reporting structure are still being defined. That gives you real influence, but it also demands comfort with ambiguity. For a builder, this is the appeal: the ceiling is largely set by what you create.
RESPONSIBILITIES: You’ll own the full OEM sales cycle, from first conversation through production launch. This is a hunter role, not account maintenance. Success means winning new programs and building long-term partnerships. Build a target account list and pipeline of new OEM opportunities Lead engagement from concept through quoting, prototyping, and program launch Assess customer applications, align the right power solutions, and bring in engineering resources as needed Build credibility with engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders Expand existing opportunities into larger programs through structured account strategies Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, and production so that wins become repeatable, scalable programs Share competitive and market intelligence to shape regional strategy SUCCESS MEASURES90 days: Target account list and territory strategy defined 6 months: Meaningful OEM pipeline built 12 months: Multiple opportunities advanced into prototype or pre-production Long term: Production programs won and lasting OEM relationships established
REQUIREMENTS: Proven success selling to OEMs in complex, technical environments Track record of building new business from scratch. Interest in building and eventually leading a regional team Experience managing 12-36 month sales cycles from concept to production Technical aptitude to lead application-based discussions with engineers Prefer 5+ years in OEM or program-based technical sales Prefer Background in engines, powertrain, or industrial equipment Prefer Application engineering experience

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
