Compensation: $75 - 80/hr This position allows for 2-3 days per week remote / work from home. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager – Low Voltage Systems to lead the end-to-end planning, integration, and delivery of all technology infrastructures for a major new facility project. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of Audiovisual (AV), Information Technology (IT) structured cabling and active networks, Electronic Security systems (Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection), and related low-voltage scope. You will serve as the single point of contact bridging construction teams, trade contractors, architects, IT engineering, and executive stakeholders to ensure systems are delivered on time, within budget, and to technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for all low-voltage packages from initial architectural schematic design through owner handover. Develop detailed project execution plans, schedules (Gantt/Primavera/MS Project), and work breakdown structures integrated with the master construction timeline. Define and manage scopes of work for trade contractors, vendors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).Oversee integration of unified communications, video walls, digital signage, sound masking, control systems, and conference room technology. Direct structured cabling installation (MDF/IDF room builds, fiber/copper backbone, horizontal distribution) and network infrastructure readiness (Wi-Fi, PoE switches, cellular DAS).Oversee deployment of IP Access Control, Video Surveillance (VMS/CCTV), Intrusion Detection, Public Address/Mass Notification, and Building Automation System (BAS) interfaces. Coordinate space, power, cooling, and pathway requirements (conduits, cable trays, floor boxes) with General Contractors (GC), Electrical Contractors (EC), and MEP engineers. Represent low-voltage engineering in site coordination meetings, BIM/Navisworks clash detection, and submittal reviews. Conduct regular quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) site walks to monitor installation quality, code compliance, and safety standards. Manage the low-voltage master budget, track job costs, review contractor pay applications, and manage change order approvals. Drive vendor procurement, hardware ordering, staging, and material logistics to prevent site delays. Oversee point-to-point testing, network sweeps, system integration testing, and final acceptance testing for all subsystems. Coordinate client training sessions and assemble complete turn-over documentation (As-Builts, O&M manuals, warranty certificates, and test reports).
Qualifications & Requirements: 5+ years of project management experience specifically leading low-voltage, AV, IT, and security integration projects in commercial construction, healthcare, higher education, or enterprise facilities. Deep understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI), network topology, AV over IP (AVoIP), network security, and IP-based physical security architectures. Strong ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints, electrical riser diagrams, low-voltage matrix schedules, and CAD/BIM drawings. Hands-on experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam Revu), scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera P6), and CAD/BIM tools. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to lead multi-trade technical discussions and report to executive leadership.
