Job Title Ticketing Manager
Job Description: Organizational Purpose This work unit exists to manage the ticketing operations for the organization. The Ticketing Manager ensures a seamless, secure, and user-friendly purchasing experience for guests, while maintaining standards of customer service and financial accountability. Major Objectives of the Position The Ticket Manager exists to manage the ticketing operations for year round events and the annual State Fair. The Ticket Manager exists to manage key revenue areas, and deliver an exceptional experience to guests, promoters, partners, and staff. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Ticketing and system management
Brief Duty Description: This position will oversee and manage the ticketing process and systems needed to produce events at the State Fair.
Duties include: Works with promoters and contractors to build and manage the performances in the ticketing system. This includes but is not limited to building a performance-specific map and determining the best tools to use in the ticketing system that provides an accurate and efficient ticketing process for each performance. Creates digital seating charts. Identifies, researches, communicates, and resolves all issues within the ticketing system and/or ticketing processes. Resolves complex customer service issues that frontline staff cannot resolve. Determine and request additional equipment for events from the ticketing company. Installs equipment which requires lifting of boxes weighing between 10-50 pounds, bending and crawling at times. Troubleshoots and resolves equipment issues to include but not limited to selling stations and scanning equipment. Orders and secures ticket stock. Lifting boxes of ticket stock is required. Provides ticket reports to all staff, promoters, or entertainment groups. Responsible for determining which report best suits the stakeholders requests. Determines and assigns user permission levels of access within the ticketing software. Advises the promoter on pricing tiers and set up for the event. Advises promoters when to introduce promotions based on slow or rapid sales. Manages comps to be released or retained without impacting revenue or crowding priority areas. Communicates the event set up with the operations team and the production team. Reviews the completion of the event set for accuracy. Communicates with marketing to ensure that the website and social media are scheduled in unison with the sale date. Communicates information to the patron via messages scheduled through the ticketing system. Continue to stay current with new system features. Oversees the call center during the Colorado State Fair event. Financial Management:
Brief Duty Description: Position oversees the financial aspect of ticketing operations by reconciling daily sales, weekly settlements, and monthly reports against the accounting system. Ensures strict adherence to internal controls for securing funds and ticketing inventory while managing the approval process for all ticket distributions to maintain financial accountability and operational accuracy.
Duties include: Reconcile money collected to sales and submits worksheet and system reports to accounting daily. Reconcile weekly ticketing settlements received from the vendors, run reports from the system to reconcile accounts, and then submit to accounting. Reconcile ticket reports at the conclusion of each event. Reconcile the ticketing reports to the accounting system monthly and provide accounting with corrections. Secure change funds and all sales received in the safe. Authorizes refunds and exchanges. Establishes procedures to ensure staff have clear directions for sales, refunds, exchanges. Staff Management:
Brief Duty Description: Position is responsible for providing leadership and supervision between 50 to 60 seasonal temporary employees and volunteers.
Duties include:
  • Demonstrating commitment to CDA's core values including maintaining a workplace that values and respects employees through communication and behavior with staff and stakeholders, and developing program initiatives with these values at the core.
  • Recruiting, hiring, terminating, and supervising qualified temporary staff.
  • Directing temporary staff and volunteers ensuring the delivery of services that support the business operations of the program.
  • Scheduling temporary staff and staying within the budget.
  • Identifying skills of staff and utilizing such skills to enhance the unit.
  • Managing conflict and employee relations in a constructive manner. Handle employee issues.
  • Assessing staffing needs based on department goals and budget; Overseeing the allocation of human and financial resources, and identifies cost-effective approaches to improving the quality of services and operations within the program.
  • Training personnel using the ticketing system or ticketing equipment to include ticket sellers and ticket takers

Salary Range: BIWEEKLY $2,779.38 - $3,335.08 ANNUALLY $72,264.00 - $86,712.00 Although the full salary range for this position is provided, appointments are typically made at or near the range minimum.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Proven Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
  • Seven (7) years of work with large event management, customer service and organizationOR Education and Experience:
  • A combination of related education in accounting, event planning, public relations, and/or public administration and/or relevant experience in large event management, customer service and organization equal to Seven (7) years.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Years of state service as a preferred qualification.
  • Previous work with large events
  • Previous supervisory experience working with temporary employees
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must have an active Colorado driver's license.
  • Must be a resident of the state of Colorado.
  • Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours
  • Will need to work outdoors in adverse conditions such as rain, heat, and snow.
Required Competencies:
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
  • Experience with event management
  • Ability to troubleshoot systemic problems
  • Knowledge working with computer logistical systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.

  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally with diverse communities in all corners of the state.
