The Business Office Assistant is responsible to the Administrator and the Program Director and assists with: direct patient expenditures coordination, personnel records, and billing liaison.Schedule: Full timePAY RANGE: $18 - $22/hrDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCommunicates effectively on the telephone with patients, families and staff.Answers incoming calls and forwards to appropriate staff person or takes a message if the person is not available.Welcomes and assists all guests.Manages incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail.Performs typing, faxing and coping tasks as requested for various staff persons.Promotes and lives the organization's core values and acts as a cultural champion.Prompt data entry for all employee information into system and back-up.Maintains current contracts on contracted personnel.Inputs data into computer for billing purposes.Submit accounts payable information and maintain a system to ensure orders and invoices are submitted and paid on a timely basis.Orders and maintains accurate records of medical equipment and supplies.Maintains accurate mailing lists of employees; patients; volunteers, Medical Directors, physicians and nursing facilities and forwards any changes to the Corporate Office.Support relief for authorizations, intake, and scheduling.JOB REQUIREMENTSTwo years data entry experience. Previous billing and computer experience, preferably in hospice or similar operation.Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and demonstrate good communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.Demonstrated capability to accurately manage detailed information.Able to deal tactfully with patients, family members, referral sources and payers.Previous healthcare related billing experience.Word processing skillsPersonal computer skillsWhy First Call?First Call Hospice is part of the Cornerstone Group with close to 80 agencies throughout the country.
