About the role
Job Description:
Our client, a growing manufacturing organization located in Vineland, NJ, is seeking an experienced Glass Production Managerto lead day-to-day production operations in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient production while maintaining quality standards, supporting employee development, and meeting production schedules.
The ideal candidate brings strong glass manufacturing knowledge, mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and the ability to identify and resolve production challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise production employees, promoting safety, quality, efficiency, and adherence to company policies.
Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot production issues based on manufacturing demands.
Identify opportunities to improve production processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
Establish and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.
Coordinate production schedules with planning and other departments to ensure timely completion of orders.
Develop and implement employee training programs and support ongoing management development.
Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and applicable operating standards.
Establish daily priorities and communicate production schedules and productivity goals to the team.
Monitor equipment and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Track material consumption and production waste.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
Collaborate with other departments to promote effective communication and workflow.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Approximately 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of glass manufacturing and mechanical systems.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues efficiently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency.
Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
Dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a changing production environment.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Work Environment &
Physical Requirements:
Manufacturing environment that may be loud and require frequent standing and walking.
Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, wet, or humid environments.
Must be physically capable of working within a production environment and accessing equipment and work areas.
Overtime or weekend work may occasionally be required based on production needs or deadlines.
