About the role
- Operating vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, other road users, and self.
- Transporting passengers to and from medical facilities and/or home in a timely and safe manner.
- Familiarizing self with designated routes, utilizing maps, or GPS systems to efficiently navigate to destinations while minimizing delays.
- Regularly inspecting vehicle for maintenance needs and is in good working order; maintaining a clean vehicle at all times.
- Completing mechanical checklist at the start of each shift and reporting any mechanical problems to management.
- Completing and entering daily trip sheets for each transport.
- Ensuring all required permits, licenses, and documentation are up-to-date and in order.
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining professionalism with all passengers.
- Handling basic issues and problems and referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Complying to the expectations of organization contracts and all Federal, State, and Local regulatory standards for driving and vehicle safety.
- Attending Information Systems security trainings and reporting information systems security problems.
- Participating in other projects or duties as assigned.
- We are interested in speaking to individuals with the following:
- High School Diploma required.
- Zero (0) plus years of experience.
- Valid driver's license for the appropriate vehicle type.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
- In-depth knowledge of navigating the local area to utilize the safest and most efficient routes possible.
- Excellent driving skills and the ability to handle various road and weather conditions.
- Customer-service oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and schedules.
- Physical fitness and stamina for long hours of driving, if applicable.
