About the role
- Ensure that design personnel adhere to established design proceduresEnsure that design deliverables comply with applicable laws, standards, and client and third-party requirements
- Ensure technical integrity and quality of design deliverables
- Ensure that deliverables are completed within the design budget
- Monitor and update design progress (issues, blockages, changes, risks, and deliverables)
- Lead and document design coordination meetings in accordance with proceduresEnsure that deliverables are optimized in terms of constructability, operability, and maintainability
- Provide feedback to the technical manager on the effectiveness of quality systems and the performance of the design team
- Represent the company and contribute to the development of strong client relationships
- Participate in safety integrated design (Safety in Design) requirements and reports
- Contribute actively to project execution and support the design team as needed
- Profile sought:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- More than 10 years of experience in the mining or mineral processing industry
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng./PE) title in Canada or the United States, or eligibility to obtain it in the near future
- Strong experience in mentoring and team management
- Good knowledge of applicable standards and codes
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans and documents
- Understanding of project schedule and its coordination with engineering and construction activities
- Strong awareness and application of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Ability to travel occasionally to the United States for work
- 40 hours per week
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada or the United States
