Powder Coater

Summary: Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between conventional liquid paint and powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin."Duties and responsibilities of our Paint Line Powder Coater will include:

Operation of the powder coat application system
Maintaining parameters of control to achieve proper paint application
Setting/storing and maintaining operation recipes in the automated system
Controlling paint usage and film build on parts
Maintaining paint inventory in a FIFO mode
Maintaining a system to avoid cross-contamination of paint colors
Responsible for determining when to change and clean system components
Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products
Maintains a safe, clean working environment
Participates in quality improvement efforts
Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods
Commitment to excellence and high standards
Acute attention to detail
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
Physical/mental requirements:
Lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance.
Walk, bend, and climb stairs.
Stand for long periods of time.
Wear appropriate safety equipment.
Hourly compensation is $18 and up, based on powder coating experience.
