Harvey John is exclusively partnering with a rapidly growing international AI business to hire a Direct Tax Lead. The environment is fast-moving and ambitious, with lean teams and minimal bureaucracy. We’re looking for someone pragmatic and hands-on who is comfortable with ambiguity and can turn complex tax issues into clear, practical decisions.
The role:
You’ll take ownership of US income tax provision, compliance and supporting controls, working closely with the Head of Tax, external advisors and auditors.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the quarterly and annual tax provision process.
Managing US federal and state tax compliance.
Overseeing technical tax matters and documenting key positions.
Developing and operating tax controls.
Managing external providers and taking accountability for their output.
What we’re looking for:
Extensive ASC 740 experience within a multinational environment.
A strong US corporate tax background, including federal and multistate compliance.
An understanding of international tax and its impact on the provision.
Experience working with external advisors and auditors.
Experience in a high-growth or pre-IPO business would be beneficial.
