About the role
The MES Solution Architect (Siemens OpCenter) is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the technical architecture for OpCenter MES implementations across manufacturing sites. This role provides technical leadership, resolves complex technical challenges, mentors the development team, and ensures that OpCenter solutions meet scalability, compliance, and integration requirements. The architect will also facilitate and conduct technical workshops, ensuring alignment between business processes, MES capabilities, and architectural best practices.
Key Responsibilities Design and architect multi site OpCenter MES implementations, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance.
Understand the technical architecture, including OpCenter Designer, MOM Connect, data structures, and online data store usage.
Define end to end technical solutions including interfaces, middleware, integrations with ERP (SAP S/4HANA), Asset Management, Learning Management, Calibration, etc.
Lead solution feasibility assessments and provide architectural decisions aligned with business needs.
2. Technical Leadership & Execution Guide and mentor the technical team in design, coding, integration, configuration, deployment, and best practices.
Own and drive resolution of complex technical issues, troubleshooting, RCA, and performance improvements in OpCenter MES and MOM Connect.
Review and approve technical deliverables such as design documents, configuration models, and integration specifications.
3. Workshops, Stakeholder Engagement & Governance Conduct and participate in technical workshops, discovery sessions, and architecture review boards with business SMEs, IT stakeholders, and plant leadership.
Contribute to governance models, DevOps improvements, and cross functional technical alignment
4. Implementation & Support Oversee installation, configuration, deployment, and upgrades of OpCenter MES across global sites.
Provide technical guidance for MSSQL database aspects—tuning, optimization, and performance monitoring.
Required Skills & Experience OpCenter Expertise Proven hands on experience in Siemens OpCenter MES (Especially Medical Devices).
Strong capability in:
OpCenter Designer, Portal Studio
OpCenter MOM Connect and MOM modules
OpCenter data structure and online data store
CAMSTAR modelling & interoperability (CIO/MIO) for equipment & ERP integrations
Technical Skills Deep troubleshooting proficiency across OpCenter application and integrations.
Strong knowledge of:
MSSQL / SQL Server administration and query optimization (DBA level exposure).
Preferred Qualifications 8–12+ years overall experience, with 3+ years specifically in Siemens OpCenter architecture roles.
Proven track record of delivering global MES programs with reusable, standardized architectural components.
