About the role

The Technical Project Manager, Renewable Energy Forecasting, leads the successful delivery of real-time meteorological and power forecasting solutions for wind and solar asset owners, utilities, grid operators, energy traders, and other energy market participants. Operating within a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) environment, this role serves as the primary interface between customers and a cross-functional team of meteorologists, data scientists, software engineers, IT professionals, and renewable energy subject matter experts. The ideal candidate combines strong project management and customer relationship skills with an understanding of renewable energy operations, forecasting technologies, and data-driven decision making. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines, including meteorology, power systems, software engineering, and machine learning, translating complex technical concepts into clear business and operational outcomes for customers and stakeholders. This is a full-time position and can be hybrid (3 days on-site) at any UL office in the United States. This position can be fully remote if not located near a UL office.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
