About the role
Our client, a contemporary women’s ready-to-wear brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to support both product development & production. This role will work closely with the Creative Director, production team, and overseas vendors to ensure garments are technically accurate, well-fitting, and true to the design vision.
Responsibilities:
Support technical development from initial concept through approved sample and production.
Develop specifications, measurements, construction details, and fit standards.
Conduct fit sessions, review samples, and provide detailed fit comments and corrections.
Partner with the Creative Director and vendors through multiple rounds of samples and revisions.
Review production samples and ensure approved fit and design standards are maintained.
Troubleshoot technical and fit issues with Production and overseas vendors.
Qualifications:
Strong technical design experience within women’s luxury or contemporary ready-to-wear, eveningwear, and outerwear.
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, patternmaking, and grading.
Experience conducting fit sessions and providing clear, actionable fit comments.
Ability to read and interpret tech packs, patterns, and garment specifications.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
