About the OrganizationA leading national retail healthcare business support organization supporting nearly 1,500 health and wellness locations across 48 states. Operating across multiple consumer-facing brands in specialized healthcare categories, the organization provides centralized business support services, infrastructure, and technology that enable rapid, scalable growth nationwide.
Role Overview: The Director of Technology Procurement & Strategic Sourcing will oversee $200M+ in annual enterprise technology spend across Enterprise & Clinical SaaS, AI & Emerging Tech, Infrastructure, Telecom, Hardware, and IT Professional Services. Serving as a strategic advisor to executive leadership (CIO, SVPs), this role combines hands-on category execution with building long-term procurement governance across a multi-brand ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities: Category Leadership & Centralization: Develop multi-year technology category strategies and consolidate fragmented or \"shadow\" IT spend across disparate business units under central procurement governance. Mega-Vendor Sourcing & Negotiations: Lead complex, high-value enterprise software negotiations with core vendors including Microsoft, Workday, Salesforce, Oracle, and SAP.AI & Emerging Technologies: Evaluate non-traditional pricing structures (such as compute-based and consumption models) and structure risk-mitigated contracts for emerging AI platforms. Financial Modeling & Governance: Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses, build scenario models, and establish supplier performance metrics to optimize commercial terms and cost avoidance. Team Scaling & Roadmap: Perform direct category execution initially while positioning the function to recruit, mentor, and lead 1–2 Category Managers over the next 12–24 months.
Qualifications & Experience: 10+ years of progressive strategic sourcing, technology procurement, or vendor management experience within enterprise environments. SaaS Expertise: Proven track record managing large-scale SaaS portfolios and executing tactics to introduce competitive leverage in single-source vendor negotiations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPSD, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma are strongly preferred. Presence: Strong executive presence with demonstrated experience influencing cross-functional leaders across Technology, Legal, Security, and Finance.
