This is a unique opportunity to join a newly established, system-wide MedStar department while remaining based in the Baltimore area in a dedicated space at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. In this role, the Clinical Bed Coordinator will support patient flow and capacity management across the four Baltimore hospitals by coordinating patient placement activities, collaborating with operational and clinical teams, and identifying opportunities to improve throughput and patient access. Responsibilities include coordinating all patient placement activities in support of safe, timely, and efficient patient flow; collaborating with nursing and departmental staff to facilitate patient placement, optimize bed utilization, and resolve operational issues; partnering with Transport and Environmental Services teams to prioritize patient movement and improve throughput; working closely with regional Capacity and Throughput Managers to identify, develop, and communicate opportunities to enhance throughput and operational coordination; and analyzing throughput reports and operational metrics to provide recommendations that improve patient access and flow. The preferred candidate profile includes a strong interest in hospital operations, patient flow, and capacity management; excellent communication and collaboration skills; the ability to assess multiple priorities and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and the ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams across the health system. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing, system-wide function that plays an essential role in supporting access, operational efficiency, and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
